Phew! It’s been a quite the rocky year so far hasn’t it. While 2020 has been fairly unique in many ways and certainly not without its challenges, here at Feedback it’s also seen both the launch of our organic veg box and the exciting launch of our Feedback Futures school program. The Futures program is a hands-on one for school children and their families to build awareness around sustainable, local agricultural practices – giving them the confidence to sustainably grow their own food. While our Futures program is aimed at school children, here at Feedback there are an abundance of other other varied ways to be involved. If you would like to know more, or simply keen to get involved in anyway that you can — get in touch! We would love to hear from you.
Family Open Day
Our next Open Day is Sunday 23rd of August. Along with planting, harvesting and eating here at the farm, importantly, we’ll also be talking about our Feedback Futures school program. Above all, the day promises to be one not only for all families and our school community, but anyone interested (and living in the local area of Newcastle, NSW) in being involved in our important food future!
Carrot Fritters
taking 2 cups of grated carrots
2 finely chopped spring onions
3 beaten eggs
1 cup of chickpea flour
a little diced garlic
1 teaspoon of cumin and coriander each
oil for frying
Combining spices, shallots, eggs and chickpea flour together in a large bowl. Mixing well to combine: flour, cumin, garlic, parsley and green onions in a large bowl.
Grate carrots and add those into the chickpea flour mixture. Season to taste.
In a frying pan over a medium heat and a little oil, add your batter in small amounts. Carrot fritters are ready to serve and eat when they’re golden on both sides, cooked through and smelling mighty fine.
